In Ukraine, prices for cucumbers and tomatoes have sharply changed: how much they cost at the beginning of May.

According to the Minfin portal, prices for cucumbers and tomatoes in Ukraine decreased at the beginning of May.
With the arrival of spring and May days, Ukrainians are actively buying fresh vegetables. A wide range of cucumbers and tomatoes, popular in Ukrainian cuisine and summer family menus, began to appear in markets and supermarkets.
Consumers will especially be pleased by the significant drop in prices for cucumbers. Since the beginning of May, smooth cucumbers have lost almost half of their value compared to March 2025. Currently, the average price per kilogram is 79.60 UAH. In the Metro store, cucumbers can be purchased for 69.90 UAH per kilogram.
Short-fruited cucumbers have also fallen in price - from 127.18 UAH to 79.80 UAH per kilogram, while the price for elite varieties decreased from 215.62 UAH to 101.55 UAH per kilogram.
The average prices for red tomatoes have decreased from 127.26 UAH to 96.16 UAH per kilogram. In the Novus chain, the price is 69.99 UAH per kilogram. Pink tomatoes have fallen in price by 5%, and the 'Plum' variety now costs 141.53 UAH instead of 161.41 UAH.
New prices for sugar, salt, and flour were previously announced.
