Military Aid to Ukraine May Increase: European Commissioner Names Specific Figures.

European Commissioner for Defense Andrius Kubilius stated that the European Union is ready to strengthen its support for Ukraine during the escalation of the conflict. During the Russian invasion, the EU and the USA provided military aid to the country amounting to 60 billion euros from each side.

'The aid from the EU and the USA to Ukraine for defense accounted for less than 0.1% of GDP. Since we are ready to spend 3.5% of GDP on our defense, we can allocate another 0.1%', Kubilius explained.

Kubilius emphasized that support for Ukraine is not unattainable for the EU, but clear strategic planning is needed. NATO's decision on defense spending of 5% of GDP has become fundamentally important for including aid to Ukraine in overall expenses.
