Ukrainian Armed Forces captured Russian marines who attempted to occupy two villages in Sumy region.

Ukrainian paratroopers in Kursk and Sumy captured ten Russian soldiers who tried to occupy settlements in the Sumy region. Among those detained are fighters who have served in the Russian army since 2025, most of them in the 810th separate guards naval infantry brigade of the Russian Federation. They plan to exchange them for Ukrainian soldiers.
«In their units in Russia, they were subjected to inhumane treatment, psychological pressure, and threats. The prisoners were provided with necessary medical and psychological assistance. They may be used for further exchange for Ukrainian soldiers who are in Russian captivity,» the command of the Air Assault Forces stated.
The Ukrainian Armed Forces called on other Russians to surrender to preserve their lives. Earlier, Ukrainian soldiers detained an occupier who did not even know the capitals of Russia and Ukraine.
Ukrainian military successfully carried out an operation to detain Russian soldiers who tried to occupy Ukrainian territory. The detainees were captured in September 2025, and they are receiving necessary assistance before being exchanged for Ukrainian prisoners in Russia. This demonstrates the effectiveness of border control measures and the readiness of Ukraine's armed forces to defend their territory.
