The Armed Forces of Ukraine explained why Russians want to bypass Pokrovsk and Myrnohrad.

According to the spokesperson of the Operational Command 'Khortytsia', Major Viktor Trehubov, Russian troops are not attacking the cities of Pokrovsk and Myrnohrad directly, but are bypassing them to avoid difficult battles. They are trying to gain a foothold in the villages to the south of these cities to cut off logistical chains. In this way, the Russians are conserving their strength and equipment, as they do not have a significant advantage over the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The tactic of bypassing indicates the cautious actions of the enemy, which the Armed Forces of Ukraine were prepared for.
Trehubov emphasized that the Russians are trying to disrupt logistical chains but are not attempting to encircle the city of Pokrovsk. It is an important logistical hub for the defense of the Donetsk region.
Earlier, there was information that Russian troops were trying to 'sneak' in small groups around Pokrovsk, but did not create a real threat to the city. According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, on the following day, our defenders stopped 77 offensive actions of the aggressor in the Pokrovsk direction.
It is also worth mentioning that the partisan movement 'Atesh' uncovered and monitored a secret part of the defense ministry of the Russian aggressor located in the Far East.
