All teams competing for the Stanley Cup are now known. After the regular season ended on April 17, teams received their tickets to the playoffs.

The last team to make it to the playoffs was 'Montreal'. They defeated 'Carolina' with a score of 4:2 and finished in eighth place in the Eastern Conference.

Eastern Conference

  • 'Washington Capitals' - 'Montreal Canadiens'
  • 'Toronto Maple Leafs' - 'Ottawa Senators'
  • 'Tampa Bay Lightning' - 'Florida Panthers'
  • 'Carolina Hurricanes' - 'New Jersey Devils'

Western Conference

  • 'Dallas Stars' - 'Colorado Avalanche'
  • 'Vegas Golden Knights' - 'Minnesota Wild'
  • 'Los Angeles Kings' - 'Edmonton Oilers'

The playoffs will begin on April 19 and continue until June. The current holder of the Stanley Cup is 'Florida Panthers'. The regular season champion of this season is 'Winnipeg Jets'.

In recognition of Alexander Ovechkin's achievements, April 11 was announced as Alexander Ovechkin Day in Washington, D.C. Ovechkin broke Wayne Gretzky's record and became the highest goal-scorer in the league's history with 895 goals.

Ovechkin openly supports Russian President Vladimir Putin. In 2017, he founded the Putin Team movement to support Putin. Even after the Russian aggression against Ukraine, Ovechkin continues to support Putin and congratulates him on his new record.

Ukrainian national hockey team veteran Edouard Zakharchenko also made a sharp statement regarding Ovechkin, revealing his support for the dictator Putin.
