From F-16 to Patriot command post: The Netherlands has significantly strengthened Ukraine's air defense.

The Minister of Defense of the Netherlands, Ruben Brinkman, stated that the Netherlands has provided Ukraine with 150 million euros for the purchase of HAWK air defense systems, a command post for the Patriot system, and a batch of F-16 aircraft. This assistance was provided after Brinkman witnessed the destruction caused by Russian airstrikes in Dnipro.
The Minister of Defense noted that these systems are very important for Ukraine and can save the lives of innocent people. He confirmed that this is a response to President Zelensky's call.
The previously announced 150 million euros will be used for purchasing I-HAWK SAMs, but it was not specified how many systems will be bought. This process will be conducted in cooperation with the United Kingdom.
Additionally, the Netherlands has provided a command center for the Patriot system. Currently, Ukraine has a full-fledged Patriot system that includes launchers, radar, and a command center.
This decision by the Netherlands is of great importance for strengthening Ukraine's defense capability and protecting its territorial integrity. The provision of HAWK and Patriot systems, as well as a batch of F-16 aircraft, will help Ukraine improve its ability to resist Russian aggression in the airspace. It also reflects the international community's readiness to support Ukraine in its efforts to strengthen its security and stability.
