Demand for used gasoline cars has decreased in Ukraine: which models are still popular.


According to Ukrautoprom, in September 2024, the number of new cars with gasoline engines that entered the Ukrainian car fleet decreased by 20% compared to the same period last year and amounted to 2100 units.
The percentage of gasoline cars among the total sales of new passenger cars also decreased. In September 2023, they accounted for 46% of the market, and now they have decreased to 37%.
The leader in sales of new gasoline cars last month was the Mazda CX5 crossover. Also in the top five most popular models were: Skoda Karoq, Skoda Octavia, Hyundai Tucson, and KIA Sportage.
Mazda CX5 - 161 units
Skoda Karoq - 135 units
Skoda Octavia - 122 units
Hyundai Tucson - 109 units
KIA Sportage - 108 units
As for the used car market, the demand for imported used cars with gasoline engines decreased by 16% and amounted to 7800 units in September. However, their share in used passenger car sales increased to 46%, compared to 44% last year.
The average age of imported used passenger cars was 10.6 years.
The most popular models among imported used gasoline cars were: Volkswagen Golf, Audi Q5, Volkswagen Tiguan, Renault Megane, and Skoda Octavia.
Volkswagen Golf - 616 units
Audi Q5 - 373 units
Volkswagen Tiguan - 349 units
Renault Megane - 326 units
Skoda Octavia - 312 units
This data indicates changes in the Ukrainian car market, specifically a decrease in demand for new and used gasoline cars.
