Ukrainian refugees in the Netherlands will experience an increase in the cost of living in shelters. According to updated rules, the cost of living for Ukrainians will rise from 105 euros to 244 euros per month. This decision has been made to reduce the disparity in living conditions among different categories of refugees. The stated amount will cover the operational costs of shelters, such as gas, water, and electricity.

“In this way, the government of the country aims to narrow the gap between those seeking asylum and Ukrainian refugees”

The new measures will apply to both single refugees and families. Thus, single individuals will pay 244 euros each month, while families with two children can expect a bill of up to 488 euros. However, the payment amount may vary depending on each family's situation.

Strengthening control over the admission of Ukrainians by two more European countries

In addition to the Netherlands, two other European countries are tightening control over the admission of Ukrainians. This may become a significant test for Ukrainian refugees, but it aligns with the overall strategy to reduce the disparity in living conditions among different categories of refugees.

As a result, the government hopes to improve conditions for all refugees and create more equal conditions for all categories of asylum seekers.
