Zelensky's office responded whether the preparation for elections in Ukraine has begun.

The process of preparing for elections in Ukraine has not yet begun due to the war and security issues, reported Mykhailo Podolyak, advisor to the head of the President's Office.
He noted that although organizational preparation is not taking place, there is a legal procedure that cannot be ignored. After the special status ends, preparations for the elections will be made and changes to legislation will be introduced considering the peculiarities and post-war situation.
The first is 3-6 months, more than 6 months, taking everything into account, the preparation for elections. This is the organization of the process. Along with this, changes to legislation will also be made. We understand that these will be elections after the war, so there are certain nuances, and the CEC will prepare proposals for changes to legislation.
Podolyak noted that the martial law will not be lifted until a ceasefire, and Russia's victory will not expedite the elections. He also pointed out the complexity of changes to electoral legislation and the need to resolve the issue of voting for temporarily displaced persons.
It is necessary to clearly understand how we will work with a large number of temporarily displaced persons. This is a completely different task, with a different volume of work regarding the compilation of voter lists and determining territorial electoral districts, etc. Therefore, this is quite a complicated process that cannot be resolved simply due to Russia's wishes.
Thus, organizational preparation for elections in Ukraine has not yet begun due to the complicated conditions and the need to make changes to legislation. Podolyak emphasized that Russia cannot influence Ukraine's domestic policy.
