A chemical plant in the Russian Federation was damaged

Today, May 24, a chemical plant 'Azot' in the Tula region of the Russian Federation was damaged. This was reported by the head of the CPD Andriy Kovalenko, as reported by 'Glavkom'.

Kovalenko emphasizes that some chemical substances produced at 'Azot' may have military applications. Among these substances, he named ammonium nitrate, methanol, and argon.

«Ammonium nitrate: used as a component for the production of explosives. Methanol: can serve as a raw material for fuel production, including components for rocket fuel. Argon: an inert gas used in metallurgy, particularly for welding and heat treatment of metals that may be used in the defense industry», - explained the head of the CPD.

It is noted that the fire at the plant occurred as a result of a drone attack. This happened after a similar attack took place in the city of Yelets in the Lipetsk region, where the 'Energia' plant was attacked.

The company 'Azot' is one of the leading producers of chemical products in the Russian Federation. It is reminded that drone attacks on enterprises within the defense industry are not a new phenomenon in this country.
