Ukrainians in Poland arrested for taking bribes for residence permits
The police in Gdansk have detained nine Ukrainian citizens suspected of receiving bribes in exchange for assistance in obtaining residence permits. This case is just part of a wide-ranging corruption network, and investigators do not rule out further arrests.

According to the investigation, the detainees face up to 8 years in prison under the Polish Penal Code. It should be noted that in November 2024, an employee of the voivodeship office in Gdansk was arrested for accepting bribes for expedited processing of foreigners' cases.
The increase in the number of unemployed Ukrainians in Poland indicates a difficult economic situation in the country.
