In Copenhagen, a car drove into a crowd: a dozen injured.


A traffic accident occurred in downtown Copenhagen, in which a car drove into a crowd of people. According to reports, at least 12 people were injured. The incident took place on the Queen Louise Bridge, near cafes and shops. The injured were taken to the hospital, one of them is in critical condition. Another 21 people received psychological assistance. Most of them were witnesses to the event and felt their lives were in danger.
According to the police, the accident happened because a 78-year-old driver lost control and drove into the crowd, destroying tables and poles in his path. The driver stated that he does not consider himself guilty, as he was not under the influence of alcohol and had a good sleep, and also takes medication. He added that he has difficulty walking, but he can still drive a car. The driver is now in custody until May 14, charged with causing grievous bodily harm through negligence.
The police continue their investigation and call on witnesses to come forward with evidence. Such incidents are becoming more common not only in Copenhagen but also in other cities around the world. Besides Copenhagen, accidents recently occurred in Warsaw and Vancouver, resulting in several fatalities.
