In the case of desertion in the army, a Sumy resident received 5 years of imprisonment. The serviceman was assigned to a difficult position and decided to escape from service. After being detained and refusing to return to service, he now faces 5 years in prison.
The soldier fled from the temporary deployment site and returned home, where he was detained.
This case is just one of many other instances of desertion in the Ukrainian army. The court has already closed the criminal proceedings against another serviceman, who was also suspected of deserting the unit in Odessa.
A Ukrainian serviceman, who chose to flee from service, was sentenced to 5 years in prison. This case is yet another example of the problem of desertion in the Ukrainian army.
