Due to the threat of a missile attack, traffic across the Crimean Bridge has been temporarily suspended in Ukraine. According to reports from Crimean social media, explosions are occurring in the city of Sevastopol and a missile danger has been declared.

Attacks on the Crimean Bridge

The history of attacks on the Crimean Bridge began in 2022. The first significant attack occurred on October 8, 2022, when a truck with explosives detonated on the bridge, destroying two road spans and causing a fire.

The second assault took place on July 17, 2023, when maritime drones shelled the bridge, damaging one span and destroying another.

Then, on August 16, 2024, the bridge was attacked by ATACMS missiles during Operation Lunar Hail. Russia claimed to have destroyed 12 missiles, but holes remained on the bridge that were later repaired.

Now, in March 2025, the commander of the Ukrainian Navy hints at the possibility of a new attack on the Crimean Bridge. Previous assaults from Ukraine have weakened Russian logistics.

These attacks demonstrate the ongoing threat faced by Ukraine in its attempts to defend its territorial objectives. The suspension of traffic on the Crimean Bridge is strategically important for ensuring the country's security and preventing further attacks from Russia.
