Russia cynically struck a bus in Sumy region: many dead and injured.


Strike on a bus in Bilopillia: nine dead
On the morning of Saturday, May 17, Russia struck a passenger bus in the city of Bilopillia, reported the OVA and National Police.
According to preliminary data, as a result of the strike by the 'Lancet' drone, 9 people were killed, and another 7 were injured, three of them in serious condition.
'This is yet another war crime of Russia. A deliberate strike on civilian transport that posed no threat. We bow our heads before the fallen. Heartfelt condolences to the families. Wishing a speedy recovery to all the injured', the statement said.
Currently, a rescue operation is ongoing at the scene, said the head of the Sumy OVA, Oleg Grygorov. Local residents reported that the bus was a scheduled one, running from Bilopillia to Sumy.
The head of the community, Yuri Zarko, declared a Day of Mourning in Bilopillia from May 17 to 19. He called this Saturday a 'black Saturday' in the city's history.
According to local officials, the bus, which was carrying people for evacuation, was attacked by a Russian 'Lancet' drone. Currently, 9 dead and 5 injured have been confirmed, who received assistance and were hospitalized. The bodies of the deceased are being taken from the scene, and the identities of some of them have yet to be established. Most of the dead are elderly women.
It is worth noting that during negotiations in Istanbul, Russia put forward five maximalist demands on Ukraine.
