Politico: China Attempts to Promote a 'Peace Plan' for Ukraine at the UN, Favorable to Russia.

China is trying to garner support for its peace initiative regarding Ukraine at the UN General Assembly. The goal of this is to prevent Russia from being defeated in the ongoing war in Ukraine. China proposes freezing the front line in the conflict and attracting support from countries in Latin America, Asia, and Africa. This would allow for peace talks, considering each side's security interests.
China wants its plan to be accepted by other countries, including Russia and Ukraine. Ukrainian officials condemn this initiative and are attempting to convince allies not to support the Chinese plan. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky called it a 'colonial' attempt. The US also asserts that any peace process must involve Ukraine and requires that Russia make reparations for the damage caused.
At present, Ukraine does not consider China an unbiased mediator and accuses it of continuing the war by providing military assistance to Russia.
