Exchange of Azov and Marine prisoners: The Coordination Center made a statement.

The head of the secretariat of the Coordination Headquarters for the Affairs of Prisoners of War, Bohdan Okhrimenko, stated that Russia is not trying to include Ukrainian prisoners of war from 'Azov' and the Marines in the exchange list. According to him, the Russian side considers 'Azov' a terrorist organization and the Marines as motivated servicemen who will fight again, so they do not wish to return them. The situation with the return of servicemen from other units is more complicated. The Coordination Headquarters has returned 30% of the personnel of military unit 3057 'Azovstal' from captivity.
Ukraine is urging Russia to take back its servicemen, among whom there are forcibly mobilized and recruited convicts from colonies. Russia does not consider these individuals its citizens, except for Chechens. They are also interested in conscript soldiers, but in reality, they are participating in combat actions. Ukraine has conducted the 61st prisoner exchange, during which 4131 people were returned. Earlier, a captured Russian soldier recounted why he killed a civilian man. A former 'Azov' fighter, Artur Niverchuk, was in Russian captivity for 884 days, having gone through eight colonies. Mariupol defender Mykhailo Chaplia spoke about the torture that Russians apply to Ukrainian prisoners of war, including electric shocks and beatings. The Azov officer was sent to a punishment cell several times.
