Commander of the 'Mагура' battalion revealed issues in the unit

Oleksandr Shyrshyn, head of the 47th 'Mагура' brigade, decided to submit a resignation report due to the lack of response from military leadership. He announced this on social media, highlighting the issues of the unit that had been overlooked.

"Before going public, I repeatedly made official and unofficial appeals regarding the expediency of carrying out tasks with proposals at various levels of our command. Almost all appeals were ignored," he stated.

Shyrshyn believes that it is necessary to change management approaches and adequately assess the unit's capabilities. He emphasizes that the problems are structural and not related to any specific person.

"However, in the last few months, I have the impression that we are simply being erased. People's lives are treated as if they are excess funds at parties. The proportion of losses to results indicates a low level of effectiveness," the military added.

After the publication of the report, Shyrshyn emphasized that his main goal is to maintain the combat capability of the unit and the lives of the soldiers.

Response of the leadership to the exposure of problems

Following Oleksandr Shyrshyn's statement about the problems in the unit, the General Staff of the Armed Forces decided to create a working group to carefully study the circumstances. It is planned to check the orders and directives of the military command regarding the expediency of the current combat situation and to make decisions based on the results of the analysis.

Earlier, the General Staff reported on the actions of Ukrainian units in the Kursk direction to preserve the buffer zone in border areas. Currently, a detailed study of the situation is underway, and preventative work is being carried out to protect the country's borders.
