In Transcarpathia, a church was set on fire and threats were left for the Hungarians.


On July 16, in the village of Palad-Komarivtsi in Transcarpathia, unknown individuals set fire to a church. Currently, law enforcement is searching for those involved in this crime.
Church Arson in Transcarpathia
According to the Main Department of the National Police in the Transcarpathian region, law enforcement received a report about the arson of the church around 10:00 PM on July 16. During the investigation, it was found that an unknown individual entered the territory of the temple, set fire to the entrance doors, and wrote a provocative slogan in black paint on the facade of the building. The police reported that the slogan aims to incite national and religious animosity.
Currently, police and the Security Service are taking operational measures to establish the identities of those involved in committing this crime.
Response from Hungary
Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban reacted to this incident, stating that there has been a decade-long wave of systematic attacks on Hungarians in Ukraine. He also noted the silence of Brussels regarding these events and summoned the Ukrainian ambassador in Budapest. Hungary's Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto also expressed his outrage regarding this incident.
