Comprehensive reform of traffic rules in Europe: all changes in 2025.

European countries are preparing for significant changes in traffic rules
In 2025, European countries will introduce significant innovations in traffic rules. In particular, it is planned to strengthen control over violations, increase fines, and use digital technologies.
According to the new rules, drivers will receive fines for violations regardless of which country in the European Union they reside in. This is intended to enhance road safety.
Ukraine will also introduce stricter fines for violations of traffic rules. For example, exceeding the speed limit by more than 50 km/h will result in a fine of 1700 hryvnias. Driving under the influence will incur a fine of 51,000 hryvnias. In addition, new sanctions have been introduced.
In Poland, fines have also been tightened. For exceeding the speed limit by more than 50 km/h, a driver loses their right to drive for 3 months, and the fine can be up to 5000 zlotys.
The United Kingdom has introduced a system of fines tied to the offender's income. For example, exceeding the speed limit on the motorway can result in a fine of up to 175% of the weekly earnings.
European Union countries are actively engaged in environmental initiatives. For instance, Germany and Austria have raised taxes on CO₂ emissions, leading to rising gasoline prices. This also encourages the transition to electric vehicles.
Reforms also foresee the digital transformation of transport. From 2030, the introduction of digital driving licenses is planned, which will contain information about violations and insurance. The use of artificial intelligence for monitoring compliance with rules is also planned.
