Spectator died during athletics competitions
In Colorado (USA), during athletics competitions, a spectator died as a result of being struck by a hammer. The projectile pierced the protective barriers and hit the father of one of the athletes. The man attempted to shield his wife and child and died at the scene of the incident.
The University of Colorado expressed condolences to the family of the victim and noted that an investigation into the incident is ongoing.
