Estonian Defense Minister Hanno Pevkur announced that Estonia is considering the possibility of purchasing defense products from Ukraine.
However, due to martial law in Ukraine, there is a ban on the export of weapons and military equipment. The minister, astoundingly, noted that this ban will not hinder cooperation if the countries reach mutual agreement, as such cooperation would be beneficial both for Estonia and Ukraine.
"If we receive consent from the Ukrainian government, then, of course, it's possible. We need to understand that what we buy means Ukraine gets more money and can produce more for its army," Pevkur noted.
According to him, if Estonia and Ukraine find common ground on this issue, Tallinn will purchase only the necessary products for the country.
"We are interested in long-range missiles. There are many different options. Of course, we cannot speak in detail, but first and foremost we will evaluate systems that can impact the enemy at a great distance," Pevkur emphasized.
