Let us honor the memory of Valeriy Lobanovskyi

23 years ago, on May 13, 2002, Valeriy Lobanovskyi passed away - an outstanding coach of Ukrainian and world football.

Lobanovskyi successfully worked with Kyiv's Dynamo, winning several championship titles and also obtaining the Cup Winners' Cup and the UEFA Super Cup with the team. He also headed the Ukrainian national team and brought it to the playoff qualification of the 2002 World Cup, but unfortunately, the team was unable to qualify for the tournament.

He was greatly revered in the football world, as evidenced by the award of the UEFA Ruby Order and the FIFA Order of Merit. In 2017, Lobanovskyi was recognized as one of the greatest coaches in European football.

Valeriy Lobanovskyi died in 2002 after suffering a stroke during one of Dynamo's matches. He was a highly respected coach and player who made a significant contribution to Ukrainian sports.
